:: Subtitling and Translation (English > Spanish > English)

For projects 10+ minutes we can provide you with a free 3+ minute sample/test of your project. Please email us!

Transcript/Screenplay Translation = 16 ¢ per source word.

Dialog/Narrative Translation from video* (Translation for subtitles):
   Documentary, Corporate, Training = $9 per minute of footage
   Drama = $7 per minute of footage
   All other genres = $6 per minute of footage
 
Spotting and Subtitling** (Subtitle preparation from translation):
   With in-house translation = add $12 per minute of footage
   From client provided transcript & video = $15 per minute of footage
   Capture from Beta Sp, HDV, or DVCam = add $2 per mintue of footage**
   Capture from CD, DVD Data, or drive = Free
   Capture from DigiBeta or HD = Please call.

Subtitles: NL editing and/or DVD Authoring***:
   Editing subtitles and mastering to Beta, DVCam, HDV, or Drive = $155/hour.
   Editing subtitles and mastering to HD = Please call.
   DVD encoding from file = $5 per minute (BVR MPEG-2 and ACT Dolby 5.1)
   DVD subtitles authoring = $150 flat fee

* Client will be provided with both source transcript and translation transcript in ms word file. There is a $100 minimum charge regardless of footage length.
** Spotting and subtiling performed from Explorart-created translation or translated transcript and source video provided by client. Capturing cost are added to all projects requiring subtitle preparation. Client will be provided with spotting and subtitle file in format requested by client, or file will be used by Explorart for additional DVD authoring or integration to project as requested. There is a $100 minimum charge. There is a $125 minimum capturing charge.
*** Capture costs may apply. Client must provide spotting/subtitling file in FCP or DVD Studio Pro if not created by Explorart. Most projects can be edited in 1-2 billable hours. Rates do not include other authoring services (design and chapter creation, etc). Rates include burning of DVD DL. If you provide us with a drive, we can provide you with the build files to transfer to DLT for duplication at a duplication house or you can rent a drive from us.
